Re: XP Clients cannot connect to new SBS 2003 installation.

Hi Johnny,

Thank you for your reply and the detailed additional feedback on how you
were successful in resolving this issue. Your solution will benefit many
other users, and we really value having you as a Microsoft customer.

Here I'd like to make a summary for this post:

Issue:
=========
After joined the new domain for one day, all the clients cannot access the
resources on the SBS server. You removed a client from the domain and then
it cannot join the domain any more.

Cause:
=========
The security settings on the clients are incorrect.

Resolutions:
=========
Run following command on the clients to reset the security settings to the
defaults.

secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb
/verbose

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to
contact us. It is always our pleasure to be of assistance.

Have a nice day!

| I was able to fix the problem by resetting the security database on
| the clients (2 out of 8) with the secedit command:
|
| secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /
| verbose
|
