RE: Outlook Anywhere - RPC over HTTPS

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi Customer,

I would like to confirm if the issue has been resolved. If not, I suggest
you run CEICW to create a new certificate and manually install it on the
client workstation:

First, please re-reun CEICW to re-create a new certificate. Then, let's
move on:

Step 1: Export certificate from Server:
========================
a. Start MMC on the SBS server.
b. Please add "Certificates" Snap-in and associate to "Local Computer"
account
c. In the Personal\Certificate container, please double click to open the
certificate of your domain. It is the one issued by YourFQDN.
d. In the Details tab, please click Copy to File to export your root
certificate to Based-64 encoded type certificate with a *.cer file on the
desktop.

Step 2: Install the certificate on your workstation:
===============================
a. Double Click the *.cer file and Click Install Certificate in the
general tab.
b. Choose "Place all certificates in the following store".
c. Click Browse.
d. Choose "Trusted Root Certification Authorities".
e. Click OK and finish the wizard.

I hope it is helpful.

Best regards,

Manfred Zhuang(MSFT)

| Hello Everyone,
| I could use some assistance with setting up RPC over HTTPS (Outlook
Anywhere).
|
| Hereâ??s the office setup.
|
| I have a Windows 2003 SBS Standard R2 server which I have enabled Outlook
| via the Internet, Outlook Web access and Outlook Mobile Access. I have
| enabled SSL on IIS.
|
| Thereâ??s a SonicWALL firewall in place.
|
| Home Office Setup.
|
| Linksys Firewall
| Laptop with Windows Vista Business and Office 2007 Small Business Ed.
|
| Here is the problem:
| I have configured Outlook 2007 to use Outlook Anywhere. When I attempt to
| open Outlook Iâ??m presented with the login box for the Exchange server.
When I
| type in domain\username and the password, the login box reappears and
does
| not accept the login credentials.
| Just to clarify I am able to login via the Outlook Web Access and the
| Outlook Mobile Access.
|
| My questions:
| Do I need to open any ports other than 443 for Outlook Anywhere to work?
| Is there any additional setting in Outlook that I need to setup?
|
| Thanks in advance for your assistance.
