Re: SBS 2003 and self signed SSL certificate

RWW and IE7, Certificate error
http://msmvps.com/blogs/bradley/archive/2006/10/23/Do-we-really-need-a-patch-for-this_3F00_.aspx

If that's not it, I suspect either you have a 3rd party cert installed (that
has a problem) or a problwm with the self-signed certificate. If you run
CEICW again, how is the certificate set up (you can always cancel CEICW
without making any changes)?

Yes, we do, our ISP does a store and forward for our mail to my server and
it's up.

The error in the browser is:
https://192.168.1.10/Remote/logon.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fRemote%2fDefault.aspx
and that is highlighted in pink and the next text box on the end of the
address line of the browser says: Certificate Error and if you click on
the
box you get a small dialog box that says: The security certificate
presented
by this website has errors. This problem may indicate an attempt to fool
you
or intercept any data you send to the server. We recomend that you close
this
webpage.

Do you have a registered domain name?
Can you post the exact error message you get about the "problem with the
sites certificate"?

Hi Merv,

Thanks for the prompt reply .... Yes, it's for staff to get in to
Remote
Web
Workplace and yes I have ran the CEICW and we only have the one nic
hooked
up.

It's on my local subnet with the server on 192.....10. I'll go read
the
walk thru and see if I can figgure out why I can't get the browser to
work.

I open the browser and point it to the 192. number and I get the
Welcome
screen, then when I click on the RWW I get a security warning about
going
from a current site on http:// to a trusted site on https:// and I say
Yes.

Then when I hit the http://192...../Remote, it says there is a problem
with
the sites certificate and I hit continue to the web site .....

Then I get the same prompt again about going from http to https: so
when I
get to the RWW login screen in https: the address bar is pink but I can
still
login to RWW and run OWA.

I didn't set up this server initally but I'm slowly learning it and
trying
to fix the errors it has, like for example the name of the company is
misspelled in the title bar of the main menu of RWW but I can see the
connect
to the server and client desktops and the OWA does work.

Assuming you mean a self-signed certificate to access Remote Web
Workplace
or Outlook Web Access, you can create it using CEICW:

If you mean a 3rd party certificate:
