Hello Customer,
Thank you for posing here and also thanks to Cris for input.
From your post, I understand that when attempting to reinstall Intranet, anerror is encountered. Following error message was received:
"Intranet depends on Server Tools, which has an install problem"
If I have misunderstood your concern, please feel free to correct me.
Let's try followings steps to see if it works:
A) Backup following registry key and then deleted it:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SmallBusinessServer
B) Rename following folder:
Program Files\Microsoft Integration\Windows Small Business Server 2003
Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server
C) Verify that following folder exists on the server:
Program Files\Windows for Small Business Server
D) Register the dll files by using following commands:
Regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Windows for Small Business
Server\Administration\wizchain.dll"
Regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Windows for Small Business
Server\Licensing\actwizdll.dll"
Regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Windows for Small Business
Server\Licensing\backupwizdll.dll"
Regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Windows for Small Business
Server\Licensing\licdlgctrl.dll "
Regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Windows for Small Business
Server\Licensing\sbslicsnap.dll"
Regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Windows for Small Business
Server\Monitoring\mssbsmsgs.dll"
After that, please check if Server tools can be reinstalled.
I hope the above information is helpful to you. However, if the issue
persists, please help me gather following information:
1. Please send me all files under the folder: \Program Files\Microsoft
Integration\Windows Small Business Server 2003\Logs\
2. Please help me capture screenshots of all error messages you encountered
and send them to v-mzhuan@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
To capture the image, we can perform the steps below:
(a) When the error message appears, press the Print Screen key several
times (this key is located to the right of the F12 key on the keyboard)
(b) Open Paint ['start' => 'All Programs' => 'Accessories' => 'Paint'].
(c) Click Edit (menu) -> Paste or press Ctrl + V.
(d) Click File (menu) -> Save. Save it as a .jpg or .gif file and send it
to me as an attachment.
3. Please download the MPS Report tool from the following link and run it
on the SBS server, then send the generated CAB file to my mailbox
v-mzhuan@xxxxxxxxxxxxx for further investigation so that we can find what
the root cause is:
