Hi Mike:
Here is the IE7 message if all is well:
There is a problem with this website's security certificate.
The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a
trusted certificate authority.
Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or
intercept any data you send to the server.
We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this

More information
I have never seen the "address mismatch" message.
Now when I type in https://mail.domain.com/exchange or /remote, I get
"Internet Explore cannot display the page. Most likely causes :You are
not
connected to the internet. The website is encountering problems. There
might be a typing error in the address.
When I look at the server event logs after running the CEICW, I see these
events:
In applicate log: Event ID: 101 DAVEX to be shutdown. In System log:
Event ID 1007: Cannot register the URL prefix 'https://*:443/' for site
'1'.
The necessary network binding may already be in use. The site has been
deactivated. The data field contains the error number. And Event ID
1113:
One of the IP/Port combinations for site '5' has already be configured to
be
used by another site. The other site's SSL configuration will be used.
Should I rerun CEICW and select the previous certificate, the one with the
IP address?
In the short run, if that works and your users need access.
for your errors, look at this:
http://eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=1007&eventno=3769&source=W3SVC&phase=1
and
http://eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=101&eventno=1564&source=DAVEX&phase=1
sounds like the IIS is fractured, if not broken. Any chance you have your
AV or some other app installed on 8080 or 80?
It normally takes some time, but if you work though whatever the fixes are
there you will usually get resolution.
OTOH, I have seen a very many of these go unresolved until MS CSS steps in
and request a diag from one or more of their downloadable utilities. Since
they normally go off line at that point we seldom see the resolution.
Larry
