RE: SBS 2003 R2 DISCONNECTS CLIENTS IF THEY STAY LOGGED IN OVERNIGHT

Hello Customer,

Thanks for posting in our newsgroup and also thanks to Lanwench for input.

From you description, I know that the connection to the server is lost
automatically after a night.

Before we go any further, I would like to confirm following information:

1. Do you mean the mapped drive is lost after a night?
2. What is the exact error message displayed when the connection is lost?
3. Do all the user lose their connection?
4. Do all the computers lose the connection?
5. If you ping the sever, what is the result?
6. If you run \\ServerName, what is the result?

Please also help me collect the following information for further research:

Please download the MPS Report tool from the following link and run it on
both the problematic computer and the SBS server, then send the generated
CAB file to my mailbox v-mzhuan@xxxxxxxxxxxxx for further investigation so
that we can find what the root cause is:

Please try the above steps at your earliest convenience. If you have any
concern, please feel free to let me know.

Best regards,

| I am new to SBS Server 2003 R2. If our computers are logged into the
server
| and are left logged on over night the connection is lost to the server
and
| can not open any files. We have to log off then log back on to
re-establish
| the connection. Is this a security feature that if the computer stands
idle
| for so long it loses it connection? Can anyone give me some insight on
this?
| Thanks..
