Hello Laurin,
Thank you for kind update.
1. From your description, this is a issue happen on random computers. Since
you doubt this issue relate to the latest patch of Raiser's edge program,
please try to uninstall the patch on the problematic computer to see if it
is help.
2. I suggest we do a clean boot on the problematic computer to monitor this
issue:
To clean boot the problematic computer, please use the steps below:
a. Click Start, click Run, and then in the Open box, type "MSCONFIG"
(without the quotation marks). Click OK.
b. In the System Configuration Utility (MSConfig) window, click to select
the Selective Startup button.
c. Click to clear the check mark from the "Load startup items" below
Selective Startup.
d. Click the Services tab, click to check the "Hide All Microsoft Services"
box, and remove all the check marks from the remained Non-Microsoft
Services.
e. Click OK to close the MSConfig window. Click Yes when you are asked to
restart your computer in order to enable the changes.
f. After restarting, please check whether this issue will reoccur.
3. Please try to disable roaming profile on the problematic user account to
see if it is help.

| Update for you. I am on my way out of town for a week, but I will get
back
| to you when I get back.
|
| Today another user had said their, my documents were missing¡ The only
| thing that has changed on that particular computer is the database
program
| it connects to had an update. After recovering the documents that
computer
| has not had any more problems. There was an event under application
stating
| that windows could not finish unloading the profile, and also an event
that
| said files in my documents were marked as deleted. ( I set the event log
to
| audit folder and file deletes for users, so I could see why the my docs
| were missing.)
|
| The computer that has had the missing documents is in fact our Raiser's
| Edge DB server. The other computer, and user that lost their documents
| today, was a laptop that I had updated on Friday with the latest patch
for
| the Raiser's edge program. Could it be related to not being able to
unload
| the users profiles?
|
| I was also curious as to why the event log audit entries show my document
| files as being deleted, by the user logging in¡ For instance 2 files
| stayed in my documents from yesterday. Today we restarted the computer,
and
| my docs were empty. I looked at the event log, and sure enough there were
| entries in the event log saying a request to delete files / folders was
| made by the user logging into the computer¡
|
| I hope this helps, just wanted to give you a little bit of history.
|
| As of now, my documents are still missing, doesn't matter wether they log
| off or restart the computer. Has happened to 3 users so far, and 3
| computers, 1 user had the problem and has never had the problem again
after
| restoring my docs ( did not delete the profile), 1 user always has the
| problem, and 1 user just got the problem today.
|
| Cheers,
|
| Laurin
