a. Go to the control panel and uninstall WSS 3.0
b. Follow the instructions on the link
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/920277 to uninstall the database
c. Reboot the computer and try reinstalling WSS 3.0 again

I did previously install and uninstall. How do I go about uninstalling the
database? In add and remove programms there seems to be no instance MSDE
or
SQL2000 that I could remove. The Spanish error text translates to "error
whil
encrypting or decrypting. System Error Code 997".
