Re: Remote Access Wizard fails to complete with error in rraslog f

If you re-run CEICW, does it complete successfully?

So any other suggestions on how to fix this?

Some people have removed SP2 and it didn't fix the issue. I probably
would
try to fix it with SP2 in place.

Hi,

I looked at the links you suggested and looks like the following may
apply:

************
Networking issues including NAT and VPN connectivity programs, Outlook
not
connecting, RPC errors, etc.:
RESOLUTION: Needs network card driver updates, and disabling of RSS
and
Checksum offload settings.
http://blogs.technet.com/sbs/archive/2007/03/19/vpn-securenat-nat-and-outlook-clients-not-working-after-installing-windows-service-pack-2-in-sbs-2003-premium.aspx
**********

I am not sure that I can update the nic card drivers and this is an old
compaq server that is no longer supported. I looked at the NIC
configuration
and did not find the option for the RSS and Checksum offload settings.

I should note that after looking more, I found that the Health Monitor
gives
errors for MMC.
Also we are having trouble connecting some of the PC clients to the
domain.
They were working fine but now they no longer connect. Geting Access
denied
errors.

So based on this, it certainly looks like SP2 caused the issues. The
main
thing I need to fix at the moment is the Remote Access and then the
other
two
items also need to be addressed.

Is it a good idea to remove SP2 becasue I have been trying to fix ths
for
a
week now and no luck.

Thanks

Hi,

I have a client running SBS 2003 which was originall installed with
SP1.
This was done sometime lates last year and at that time I configure
the
Remote Access Wizard and it was fine. Due to some problems with
their
router
they did not use VPN for sometime and eventually it was put put on
te
back
burner. Now they want to use VPN but when I tried to reconfigure it
there
is
a problem.

Windows Server 2003 SP2 is also now on the server which was
installed
by
Windows Update but I can't be certain that this problem was cause by
SP2
since I did not check the Remote Access configuration just before
SP2
was
added. Although I have found information indicating that this causes
problems
on SBS 2003. I began to remove the SP2 but then hesitated since it
says
that
some software was installed after the patch which may not function
properly.

Here is the output from the rraslog.txt file.
