Thanks for the update.

The 1 IP 1 Port listener is by design on ISA Server. If you have multiple
public IP addresses, you can create another listener on 80/443 on ISA;
otherwise, you have to use another port.

Info 1. ISA Info & ISA Logs.

1. ISA info:

a. Download the file from the following URL:
http://www.isatools.org/isainfo/ISAInfo.zip
b. Extract all files to a folder on ISA server
c. Double click Isainfo.js. This will generate 2 files
ISAInfo2004-<computer-name>.log and ISAInfo2004-<computer-name>.xml in
the
current folder.
d. Please send these files to me.

2. ISA logs:

Enable the full Web Proxy/firewall logging option:
a. Open ISA 2004 management console.
b. Expand the server node and highlight 'Monitoring'.
c. In the right pane, switch to the 'Logging' tab, make sure the 'Task
Pane' is showed there.
d. In the 'Task Pane', click 'Configure Web Proxy Logging' under 'Logging
Tasks', and then switch the 'log storage format' from 'MSDE database'
(default) to 'File'.
e. Switch to the 'Fields' tab, and then click 'Select All'.
f. Click OK, and then click 'Apply' to save changes and update the
configuration.
g. Click 'Configure Firewall Logging'. Do step d~f to enable the full
logging options for firewall logging.

Prepare to take the trace:
a. Temporarily stop the Firewall service to clear the current existing
W3C
logs: Monitoring->Services tab, and then right click 'Microsoft Firewall'
to choose 'Stop'.
b. Go to the log saving directory and clean any existing .W3C logs. By
default, the logs will be saved to 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft ISA
Server\ISALogs'. (Some MDF may not be able to deleted, that's normal.)
c. Go back to the ISA 2004 management console, and then Start the stopped
'Microsoft Firewall' service.

Reproduce the problem:
a. Reproduce the issue for at least 3 times.
b. Go back to the ISA server. Stop the 'Microsoft Firewall' service. Open
Windows Explorer, navigate to the ISA log file folder. Collect the recent
w3c files. Save them to a zip package as 'isalogs.zip'. Start the
'Microsoft Firewall' Service.
c. Send the zip packages to me.

Info 2. MPS Report on the IIS Server.

1. Download the MPSRPT_NETWORK.EXE from the following link and then run
this tool to gather some information from the problematic computer:

2. Double-click on the MPSRPT_NETWORK.EXE file.
[Note] This process may take some time; however, it will not have a
negative effect on the performance.

3. A CAB file will be generated in the
%systemroot%\MPSReports\Network\Reports\Cab directory called
%COMPUTERNAME%_MPSReports.CAB. The CAB file will contain the reports
generated by the MPS Reporting Tool.

4. Send the .cab file to me.

Info 3. IIS Info on the IIS Server.

1. Download the IIS Resource Kit tools from the following page:

2. Install it, run MBExplorer (Metabase Explorer)
3. Right click the "LM" node and choose "Export to file".

Bill, The limitation on 2 listeners on port 80/443 and 444, whar creates
that limit?

I have followed your instructions of how to publish with a listener but
It
doesnt work.
The change of A record was done approx. 18 hours ago.
I cant surf to http://www.thatdomain.com:81. Not sure what to do next.

Any suggestions?

Hi Hennik,

OK. ISA will now cause a problem for publishing the new site. (RRAS
won't
because it will not do a secure web publishing.)

Since we already have 2 listeners on port 80 and 443 and 444, we're not
able to publishing another domain name with port 80/443. At this point,
you
must configure IIS to listen on another port, such as 81. After that,
you
have to access the web site by using http://www.thatname.com:81.

To configure the publishing rule:

1. Open ISA Management.
2. Right click Firewall Policy, New, Web Server Publishing Rule.
3. Name it.
4. Choose Allow.
5. Select your SBS Server, and check "Forward the original host header
instead of the actual one".
6. Key in www.thatname.com in "Public name" line.
7. Click New, name it, choose "External", check "Enable HTTP", port 81,
and
Finish the web listener wizard.
8. Finish the rest of the wizard.

Now apply the changes and you will be able to use
http://www.thatname.com:81 to access the web site.

Note: If you're going to change your ISP's DNS A record, it will take
24
hours to replicate all internet DNS servers.

1. Create another web site in your IIS.
2. When doing so, configure it to use a host header (such as
www.thatname.com) and listen on port 80.
3. Migrate the original www.thatname.com to your SBS Server.
4. Configure authentication for your newly created web site.

Now, ask your ISP to point www.thatname.com to your SBS Public IP
adress,
and everything shall be fine.

CAUTION: Do you have ISA Server installed? If yes, please do not
configure
the A record now, since you must configure a Web Publishing Rule
first.

I do agree with you and others that say that you shouldnt host your
website
yourself, use an ISP. In the case with my own default web, Its not an
prod
site, my own prod site is hosted by a ISP. The default web Is right
now
used
by myname.com and is a FQDN thats not in use for prod issues.

How ever the FQDN thatname.com Is a prod domainname. But the most
important
need I h<ve is a logon situation for certain files in the FQDN
thatname.com
wich my ISP cant provid and I cant web code a solution fore.

many attacks through port 80, and not enough band width or power
protection.

IMHO, you would do better to work this out with a hosting company

If Its easier to host the whole domainname that today is hosted at

ISP, how do I config my server with the same goals as above?
How do I add a second FQDN so I can host websites other then my

use multiple domainnames within Exchange etc etc?
