Hi Ralph:
Have you looked at the solutions offered here:

I performed a swing migration over the weekend and everything went OK for
the
most part. Just to give you a rundown... The original Server was running
SBS
Premium Edition (ISA, SQL, etc...). However, we did not install ISA or
SQL
on the new server, because we are no longer using these services.
Unfortunately, I'm getting a ton of errors in the Application Log
regarding
Windows SharePoint Services 2.0. The Event is as follows:
Source: Windows SharePoint Services 2.0
Event ID: 1000
Description:
#50070: Unable to connect to the database STS_Config on
BASULTO05\SharePoint. Check the database connection information and make
sure that the database server is running.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
I tried starting the Sharepoint service but it does not stay on. It
states
that the service shuts itself of because it has nothing to do or something
along those lines.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
