Hello Mart,
Thanks for posting in our newsgroup.
I am sorry for the delay due to the weekend.
From your description, I know that you failed running the "Configure RemoteAccess" wizard and got error
*** Running IExpress to build the package returned ERROR 80004005
*** ERROR: Cannot delete temp directory CMPE.tmp
Specifying error location (in CMAK) returned OK
*** CRRASCommit::CommitCMAK returned ERROR 80004005
*** CRRASCommit::CommitEx returned ERROR 80004005
If that's not right, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Please let me know the following to make the situation more clearly:
1. What important change did you make before the problem first occurred?
2. Do you have ISA or third party firewall installed?
The problem may be caused by corrupt component, if the problem cannot be
resolved at last, we need to reinstall the Administration and Network
component. Thanks for your understanding.
Based on my research on this issue, please take the following steps:
Step 1: The problem occurs when the external or internal NIC is
disconnected, please ensure they are connected to network.
Step 2: If you have third party firewall installed, please insure the port
1723 is open.
Step 3: Please rerun the CEICW wizard, this helps us to configure the
network settings correctly:

2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=825763
Step 4: The problem occurs when the Windows SP2 installation didn't change
the related registry key. Please check the following:
1. Open registry editor.
2. Go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\SMALLBUSINESSSERVER.
3. Ensure servicepacknum value is 1.
If the problem persists, please help me collect the following information
for further research:
1. Zip all logs in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business
Server\Support and send to me.
2. MPS report.
a. Visit
http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/b/1/bb139fcb-4aac-4fe5-a579-30b0bd9
15706/MP
SRPT_NETWORK.EXE. to download the file.
b. Run the MPSRPT_NETWORK.EXE on the server box.
c. Wait for 10~15 minutes.
d. Open Windows explorer, navigate to
%SYSTEMROOT%\MPSReports\Network\Reports\cabe.
Send the .cab file directly to me.
Please send the information to v-robeli@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with subject:

I am looking forward to hear from you.
If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Best regards,
Robert Li(MSFT)

<I am getting an error when trying to setup remote access through the

<I am running SBS 2003 Premium with Service Pack 2 installed.
<
<I have checked that the registry setting is pointing to c:\ClientApps
which
<is correct and this folder exists.

<I have put the end of the error message below:

<Created temp directory CMPE.tmp
