Hello Customer,
Thank you for posting here.
According to your description, I understand that you run SBS 2003
Transition Pack, but get 2 errors: always request restart, not compatible
schema version. If I have misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate
to let me know.
Based on my research, the Transition Pack version must be match the version
of your SBS. For example, SBS 2003 SP1 shall run SBS 2003 SP1 Transition
Pack, and SBS 2003 R2 shall run SBS 2003 R2 Transition Pack.
Therefore, please double check the Transition Pack version and your SBS
version, and ensure them are match.
Then, please confirm the steps you run the Transition Pack with the
following document, ensure the steps are properly.
Documentation for Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2
Transition Pack

A2EA-145588765E68&displaylang=en
If we cannot resolve the issue after we perform the above steps, please
kindly help me collect some information for further investigation:
1. Let me know the detail steps you run the Transition Pack?
2. Please capture screenshots on the error messages and send the pictures
to me at v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
3. Gather MPS network report on SBS:
a. Download MPSrepot_network from
http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/b/1/bb139fcb-4aac-4fe5-a579-30b0bd9
15706/MPSRPT_NETWORK.EXE
b. Run MPSRPT_NETWORK.exe on the server box.
c. The tool will automatically collect the information. This procedure will
take 10~15 minutes.
d. Open Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder:
%SystemRoot%\MPSReports\Network\Reports\Cab\
e. Send the .cab file directly to me at v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
I hope these steps will give you some help.
Thanks and have a nice day!
Best regards,
Terence Liu(MSFT)

| I have ran through an upgtade of SBS with the transition pack, read up on
all
| the errors that can happen and uninstalled updates etc to make sure there
| wasnt any errors. I have finished the upgrade and the PID shows as
Windows
| 2003 Standard SP2. The 2nd cd from the transition pack would not run, it
just
| comes up with an I came up against the message on the screen saying that
| windows needs to reboot before continuing (I rebooted about 5 times and
the
| message still appears every time). The domain and forest functional level
| showed as being in 2000 mode so I have raised the functional level to
2003.
| The problem I have is that I want to move the forest off the server to
| another so that I have some backup and the SBS server only has to process
| Exchange. On the new server I get an error on the other server about the
| forest not prepared for installing Windows 2003... "The version of the
Active
| Directory schema of the source forest is not compatible with the version
of
| Active Directory on this computer."
| Any ideas?
