Hi, I'm installing SBS 2003 in an existing AD structure, and am
following MS document 884453 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/
884453) .
I promoted the server late last week, installed DNS, made it a global
catalog, transferred over the FSMO rolls, etc. I am at the point
where I want to install Exchange, however, when I run the "Continue
Setup", the system check comes back with "You must be loggged in using
the built-in administrator account." But, as it's a DC now, there
*isn't* a built-in administrator account anymore. The username I'm
logged in with is a member of Domain Admins, Enterprise Admins, and
Schema Admins.
You *must* be using the 500 SID account (which in an AD domain is the AD\Administrator account).
There are a number of KB articles that cover this error, as the memberships of the Administrator account from an existing AD may not be "right" for SBS, eg:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842694
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842469
