Eriq,
Thanks for the information. I'll keep you informed of my progress.
I was able to make the VPN connection from the Powerbook, but the user
did not have the Remote Desktop Connection software so I am asking them to
download it from Microsoft.
As for Entourage, the option to create a new MS Exchange account is not
available. This is probably due because I am not logged into the server from
the Powerbook. Do you know how I would log into the SBS2003 server from the
Powerbook? Do I need to download some additional software onto the Mac to
perform a user login (user id / password)?
The operating system on the Powerbook G4 is 10.4.10. The version of
Entourage is 10.0. Also on this machine is a version of MS Office for Mac
2004 version 11.3.6.
Thanks
Thomas

I have one user within my environment that would like to connect to our
SBS network using a MAC Powerbook G4 computer. This user would like to be
able to access our Exchange Server and possible be able to connect to the
network when out of the office via a VPN connection or something similar
if possible.
Is this possibl? If so, can anyone point me in the right direction?
The user said he has MS Entourage (10.0) on his machine. Should I persue
using this software as a means of getting this user connected to our SBS
server and Exchange Server?
Thank you,
Thomas Kroljic.

Connecting this type of Mac should prove fairly straightforward. Here are
a few links to help you get things going:
http://simultaneouspancakes.com/Lessons/2005/01/02/how-to-configure-entourage-2004-for-sbs-2003/
This refers to Entourage 2004, which you really should use on the Mac. You
have a license to run that client included in the Exchange 2003 software,
but don't probably have the software. This post should help you get the
installation media if you need it:
http://simultaneouspancakes.com/Lessons/2006/08/24/errata-on-entourage-media/
http://simultaneouspancakes.com/Lessons/2004/12/28/connecting-a-macintosh-to-sbs-2003-server-via-smb/
This link will help you get the Mac to connect to the SMB shares on the
server to access files that are located there. Merv already pointed you to
the article I co-wrote on the smallbizserver.net site for setting up the
Mac VPN, so use that article to get VPN set up and then the Mac will be
able to access the Windows shares using this post.
And this and a lot of other information about Mac connectivity can be
found in Chapter 17 of the SBS 2003 Unleashed book from Sams. Ping me
off-line if you have more detailed questions.
