Hello Allen,
Thank you for posting here, and thanks for Costas' inputs.
According to your description, I understand that you cannot find the new
created computer account when you run connectcomputer wizard on the windows
2000 server. If I have misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to
let me know.
First, please let me know which wizard you use to create the computer
account.
Based on my research, the computer account in the wrong OU will cause this
issue. I suggest we try the following steps to see if we can resolve this
issue:
1. Ensure the computer account in the following location:
Server Management->Advanced Management->Active Directory Users and
Computers
[SBSname.domain.local]->domain.local->MyBusiness->Computers->SBScomputers
If the computer account does not appear here, please move it here.
2. Create the computer account for the windows 2000 server thru Set Up
Computer Wizard:
Open Server Management, locate on the Standard Management->Client Computers
node, click Set Up Client Computer link in right pane. Go through and
finish the wizard to create computer account.
Then, test this issue.
If we cannot resolve the issue after we perform the above steps, please
kindly help me collect some information for further investigation:
1. Try to access the connectcomputer from a XP client, do you get the same
issue?
2. Gather MPS network report on SBS:
a. Download MPSrepot_network from
http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/b/1/bb139fcb-4aac-4fe5-a579-30b0bd9
15706/MPSRPT_NETWORK.EXE
b. Run MPSRPT_NETWORK.exe on the server box.
c. The tool will automatically collect the information. This procedure will
take 10~15 minutes.
d. Open Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder:
%SystemRoot%\MPSReports\Network\Reports\Cab\
e. Send the .cab file directly to me at v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
I hope these steps will give you some help.
Thanks and have a nice day!
Best regards,
Terence Liu(MSFT)

| I am trying to join a Windows 2000 Server to a SBS 2003 Network. I
installed
| Windows 2000 Server and followed the instructions about licensing (Per
SEAT).
| I installed all updates to the server and am now trying to join it to
the
| SBS network. On the SBS I added a computer client thru the wizard. I
then
| ran the ConnectComputer from IE. Everything works untill I get to the
select
| computer name screen and nothing is there. Any ideas what I am doing
wrong?
| Thanks,
