Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hmmm.... Try rejoining the problematic workstation to the domain.

Can you manually join the workstation to the domain (rather than using
ConnectComputer)?
Are you using a wired Ethernet connection with Windows XP on the
workstation?

Hi Merv,

Tried that and still no luck. The first time i went to login, it came up
with an error saying "Domin not availiable" then when you try after
that, you get the message as per my first post.
Any more ideas???

Maybe try rejoining the workstation to the domain:

1. Log in the Client workstation as Local administrator account. Right
click
My Computer, go to Properties, Computer Name tab, and click Change.
(If you
do not have the Local administrator account, log in with domain admin
account, but set up a local admin account on the workstation before you
log off again).

2. Select Workgroup to manually move your client workstation off the
SBS
domain.

3. Click OK twice.

4. Log off and log on using the local administrator account.

5. Open IE, type http://<servername>/connectcomputer

6. Follow the wizard to finish, and see whether this issue will occurs
again.

Hi All,

I used connect computer to connect a workstation to our domain.
It went through all the setup then restarted then restarted again.
It now comes up with the login box but when I put in the username and
password, I get the error as follows...

Windows cannot connect to the domain, either because the domain
controller is down or otherwise unavailable, or because your computer
account were not found. Please try again later. If this message
continues to appear, contact your system administrator for assistance.

Any ideas???
Could it be that we are short on CALS? I know that we had more cals
than connected machines at the time though.

Marty...
