VSS errors despite SP2 being installed

This is really beginning to irritate me.
I finally got around to installing SP2, because I was getting sick of all of
the VSS errors. The application event log is still full of 6013's, along
with a whole load of SQLVDI event 1's (apparently there is a hotfix for this
one (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934396/en-us) so I may give that a go.
Anyway, here's the backup log note:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Backup Status
Operation: Backup
Active backup destination: File
Media name: "Small Business Server Backup (02).bkf created 09/08/2007 at
21:32"
Volume shadow copy creation: Attempt 1.
"MSDEWriter" has reported an error 0x800423f4. This is part of System State.
The backup cannot continue.
Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:800423f4
Aborting Backup.

Does anyone have any suggestions (and yes I have run the regfix* on
countless occasions, and it does sometimes cure the problem, but only
temporarily)?
Neil
