Could you not just use a network router for communications accross

You can't route between networks using the same IP subnet - that's why the
OP wants to change his.
To the OP - use the 'change IP' wizard.

Hi

I am looking at a procedure in changing our IP address in our
company. We need to be able to talk to another site but beacuse we
or the same IP internal range as them we cant so i need to change
the server from 192.168.1.x to 192.168.4.x - i have come up with
the following procedure...can anyone tell me if i have over looked
anything or if some things dont need to be done?

Change the IP Address of the server to 192.168.4.101
2. Add a new DHCP Scope of 192.168.4.1 to 192.168.4.254
3. Configure the address pools
4. Configure the scope options if needed
5. Point DNS to new IP address 192.168.4.101
6. Change the forward and reverse lookup zone IP addresses
7. Change the SFQDN to point to new address
8. Change the firewall rules and settings through ISP
9. On workstations do a ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew
to pick up new addresses

thanks very much
