Re: SBS blue screen

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Why did you rename the server? I suspect that's what's causing the problem
with restoring Exchange.

Hi Larry,

I did a fresh installation and tried to reinstall data from a backup. I
can
restore files no problem but cant get exchange data back into exchange!

ANY ideas would be most appreciated!

Hi Billy:

Glad your making progress. I may have missed your explanation, so can
you verify if you:

1. Installed Windows, and restored from backup

2. Did a from scratch complete reinstall and copied out your data?

3. Something else?

Hi everyone,

I will have to try the recovery console checkdisk approach, seems
plausible and I would love it to work!

The re-install went well enough but I am having issues restoring
exchange data, I stuffed up my first re-install but luckily ghosted as I
went along so am currently restoring (again)!

I managed to find backups for 03/08/07 and have successfully recovered
company document data but am falling down replacing exchange data, this
fails everytime.

Is it possible to just dump the ERD/STM's in place? There are logs,
there is a tmp file (dirty shutdown) but I knew that.

I had to rename the server so it is not identicle to the original
installation :o(

Thanks for all your help!

Hi Ppl,

I so hope someone has a clue about this! I am running SBS 2003 but
today it crashed and now will not boot, blue screens on every attempt.
Last knowng good config fails as does safe mode, what is the proceedure
with something like this? I assume it will invlove re-building but I
have a lot of data that is needed (files in shared directory, exchange
emails, public folders and calendar), RAID 0 configuration, any ideas
will be MOST appreciated!

Thanks
