RE: Problem setting up fax routing to document folder

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hello Jason,

Thank you for posting here.

From your post, I understand that when attempting to set FAX to route
incoming faxes to a SharePoint document folder, following error message is
received:

Unable to connect to the Sharepoint site.

If I have misunderstood your concern, please feel free to correct me.

This issue is most likely caused by that STSwrapper.dll was missing from
the Assembly.

Suggestion 1:
==========
1. Click start and click Run.
2. Key in CMD and hit Enter.
3. Key in the following command and hit Enter.

C:\windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v1.1.4322\GACUTIL.exe /f /i "C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Client
Experience\stswrapper.dll"

4. The CMD prompt will return:

Microsoft (R) .NET Global Assembly Cache Utility. Version 1.1.4322.573
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation 1998-2002. All rights reserved.

Assembly successfully added to the cache

5. Reboot the server and have a test again.

Suggestion 2:
===========
Check the security permissions on the %programdir%\Microsoft Windows Small
Business Server\Client Experience\stswrapper.dll file.

The permissions should be as follows:

Domain Admins - Full Control
Domain Power Users - Read & Execute, Read
Network Service - Read & Execute, Read
Sharepoint Administrators - Read & Execute, Read
System - Full Control

Suggestion 3:
===========
Check and, if different, change the Default Properties in in Component
Services back to:

- Start > Run > DCOMCNFG
- Expand "Component Services" > Computers
- Right click "My Computer" > Properties > Default Properties

The "Default Distributed COM Communication Properties" should be:

Default Authentication Level : Connect
Default Impersonation Level : Identify

I hope the above information is helpful to you. However, if the issue
persists, please help me gather following information:

1. Please right click following file, click Version tab and then let me
know the version of following file:

C:\Program files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Client
Experience\stswrapper.dll

2. Please download the MPS Report tool from the following link and run it
on the SBS server, then send the generated CAB file to my mailbox
v-mzhuan@xxxxxxxxxxxxx for further investigation so that we can find what
the root cause is:

concern, please feel free to let me know.

Best regards,

| I am running SBS 2003 SP2. I am trying to set up the fax server to route
| incoming faxes to a Sharepoint document folder. I am unable to browse
for
| the correct location. I recieve the following browser message, "Unable
to
| connect to the Sharepoint site. There might be a network or SharePoint
| database problem. Ensure that you have the correct permissions to access
the
| site, and try again later. If the problem persists, you might need to
| reinstall the Windows Small Business Server Intranet component". I have
all
| the permissions to access the site so I dont think that is the issue. Is
| there anything else I should try or check before reinstalling the
intranet
| component?
|
| Thanks,
