New client - new issue

Hi all

Was assigned to a new client today, and encountered some annoyances:
1. Offline folders-My documents is redirected to the network, I had to
change the location to a new machine and for some reason it remembers the
old location and complains about being off-line(it does the new location
properly). I removed all mandatory off-line files from the GPO, however it
still does it. It will stop complaining being off-line only if I disable
the policy both on the computer and user sections.
2. Firewall is activated on all machines and is causing some connectivity
issues (verified). When I try to stop it, certain applications will
stop working. These apps need access to specific ports, and I was
under the impression that it would be the other way around... When I start
the firewall the app starts working and logging (call recording
application).
