I have all ready ran the email and internet connection wizard several times
and it always fails in the network config stage, yet we still have full
internet access and I am able to connect to the RWW internally. All of the
values I have input are correct. I have all ready ran the MPSRPT_NETWORK.EXE
and sent it to a
v-robeli@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
and have not received a response in 6 days, I have run it again and I will
send it to you. I know the problem is in the loopback config/ in routing and
remote access. I thank you for your time

Hello Customer,.
Thank you for posting here. And thanks for Cris's inputs.
First, I'd like let you know that it is normal we cannot start Windows
firewall (ICS) service in SBS 2003 with 2 NICs. In SBS 2003 with 2 NICs,
the SBS will be used as NAT server of the internal network, the RRAS will
start with the basic firewall. Therefore, we do not need to start the
Windows firewall (ICS) service in SBS. This is a by-design behavior.
Meanwhile, I suggest you rerun the CEICW thru the following KB:
Go through the follow KB and Rerun CEICW again carefully.
How to configure Internet access in Windows Small Business Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/825763/en-us
Detailed steps for your reference:
a. On the SBS 2003 Server open the Server Management console. Go to
Standard Management\To Do List.
b. Click the "Connect to the Internet" link.
c. When navigating to the Firewall page, select "Enable firewall" and click
Next.
d. On the "Services Configuration" page, select all the items and then
click Next.
e. On the "Web Services Configuration" page, make sure "Allow access to the
entire Web site from the Internet" is selected. If you select "Allow access
to only the following Web site services from the Internet", make sure all
item in the list are selected. Click Next.
f. On the "Web Server Certificate" page, choose to create a new Web server
certificate and then type the public FQDN (your public DNS name) that you
will use to access OWA and RWW (for example, if your public FQDN that you
use to access the sites is www.xyz.com, you should type www.xyz.com as the
new certificate name).
g. Go through the remaining steps.
Then, try to access the RWW from external thru https://www.xyz.com/remote.
Before we go any further, please let me know the following information so
that we can understand your situation more clearly.
1. What's is your main concern of this SBS?
2. What do you mean by "EAICW"? What do you mean by "RRW"?
3. What do you mean by "my ISP can only see the first NIC and can't see
beyond that"? What do you exactly mean by "see"?
4. What do you mean by "Inop"?
5. Please capture screenshots on the error messages and send the pictures
to me at v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
6. Gather MPS network report:
a. Download MPSrepot_network from
http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/b/1/bb139fcb-4aac-4fe5-a579-30b0bd9
15706/MPSRPT_NETWORK.EXE
b. Run MPSRPT_NETWORK.exe on the server box.
c. The tool will automatically collect the information. This procedure will
take 10~15 minutes.
d. Open Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder:
%SystemRoot%\MPSReports\Network\Reports\Cab\
e. Send the .cab file directly to me at v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks and have a nice day!
Best regards,

| I have checked the NIC's and they are configured correctly, it seems I
had
| this problem when first installed 2 years ago and it had to do with the
| internal loopback in routing and remote acces, it shows a internal
adapter
| that is inop int the NAT/ basic firewall, also I can not start the
firewall
| service because it says it is in use by another service, I can get to the
RRW
| from internally but externally does not work since I reloaded the server.
I
| am going to try to remove all network adapters and disable the routing
and
| remote access and start from scratch, it gives me an erro at the network
| config sections of EAICW when I run it then continues, all workstations
are
| able to get to the web but my ISP can only see the first NIC and can't
see
| beyond that, HELP!
