RE: Connect Computer with Windows Vista Business

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hello Richard,

Thanks for posting in our newsgroup.

From your description, I know that when you join Vista machine to SBS, you
get the error:

The error is one of the generic errors:
The following user settings are private:
-Username

If that's not right, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Based on my search, the problem is caused by some files in the user
profile, we need to check the SBSNetSetup.log to Identify which file is
causing this problem.

More info:

"The following user settings are private" error message when you try to
migrate a user's profile to Windows Small Business Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=886210

Please send the following file on Vista machine to v-robeli@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
with subject: 40073317-Connect Computer with Windows Vista Business.

%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Clients\
SBSNetSetup.log

I am looking forward to hear from you.

If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,

Robert Li(MSFT)
