Hi All,
We have the following particular problem after installing SBS R2 components.
We have about 10 IBM x3500/x236 servers in a production environment, when we installed the first with the full R2 components we found the network to be slow, the server work fine the Pc's start slowly and operate slowly on the network, particularly Outlook etc. So much so, the 35 users complained that it was slower than the old 5-year server!
Since then some of the servers were installed without the R2 components because of this reason (with the exception of exchange sp2) they work fine. Some of the servers were pre-imaged with R2 already they are slow. By the way all Pc's, Servers had all MS fixes installed to no avail.
It's a weird problem, as it is erratic and appears to effect local Pc apps.
We have been installing SBS since 4.0, so we have a bit of experience and have done everything by the book and know some of the main problems, DNS, SMB etc.
The only real difference that we can find in these installations is SBS R2.
Can anyone suggest what we can do to resolve this and is anyone else having this problem?
.
