Try adding the other users and their passwords to the workstations.

I'm guessing it's some setting on the server. Anybody have a clue
where to find it?

Problem with the windows firewall perhaps?

If you're able to be more specific maybe we can help you fiddle in the
right tune. <g>

We enabled simple file sharing and turned the firewall off altogether on
more than one workstation -- no go. When I try to map a drive to a
workstation with a shared folder, I get "Logon failure: the user has not
been granted the requested logon type at this computer". When I browse to
that computer in Network Neighborhood, the computer itself is visible, but
the share is not. When I try "Map Network Drive" and type in
\\thecomputer\theshare directly, I get the message above. When I select
"Connect using a different user name" and try the main administrator
name/password, or the local username/password for that workstation, I get
the same error.

Every workstation is XP Professional SP2, completely up to date with
Windows Update.

The only computer on the network that can share a drive is an ancient
Windows 2000 box which is not part of the domain. It's in its own
workgroup. That's why I'm thinking the problem is some system-wide
security policy setting on the SBS server. Everybody logs in using the
username/password that got set up on the SBS box.

What else can I tell you? What am I missing?
