Hello David,
Thank you for posting here.
From your post, I understand that the NetBIOS name of your domain is ACMEand the DNS name is ACMEINC.INTERNAL. When attempting to RDP the
workstations from RWW, it fills the logon name with ACMEINC\Username rather
than ACME\Username. If I have misunderstood your concern, please feel free
to correct me.
Firstly I would like to explain that we don't recommend to use two
different names for DNS domain name and NetBIOS name since some features of
SBS may not work properly.
This issue can be caused several factors. In order to narrow down the cause
of the issue, please check following setting:
1. Click Start-->Administrative Tools-->Active Directory Users and Computers
2. Expand YourServerName-->MyBusiness-->Users-->SBSUsers
3. Double click a problematic user
4. Click Account tab
5. Please check if the User logon name (pre-Windows 2000) is ACME\Username.
Please also perform following test:
Test:
=====
1. On an internal workstation, log on a problematic account, click
Start-->Run, type mstsc.
2. RDP a workstation directly.
Does the issue occur?
Please also let me know following information:
1. Does the issue occur on all the users or on specific users?
2. Please try to use the problematic account to RDP other computers and
check if the issue persists.
3. Please create a new user account and check if the issue happens on this
user.
4. Please let me know when this issue first occurred, and if there were any
software or network connection changes before it occurred.
Please try the above steps at your earliest convenience. If you have any
concern, please feel free to let me know.
Best regards,
Manfred Zhuang(MSFT)
