Hi,
For your question, "Is it posible to move built in SBS databases
(Monitoring in example) to a SQL server Express edition?" I'd like to give
you the following suggestions:
The answer is NO.
By default, the monitoring WMSDE instance cannot be upgraded to SQL 2000
server or later version.
For the Sharepoint WMSDE instance, it can be upgraded to SQL 2000 server or
SQL Server 2005 Workgroup Edition. However it is not supported to upgrade
to SQL Server 2005 Express Edition due to different basic structure.
To upgrade Sharepoint WMSDE instance to SQL 2000 server or SQL Server 2005
Workgroup Edition, you can refer to the following articles:

to include the final release version of SQL Server 2005 Workgroup Edition

Help the information helps.
If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Robert Li(MSFT)
