Hi Edwin,
Thanks for your reply.
In fact we cannot change the From address of Outbound e-mail automatically.
Exchange doesn't have such feature.
At this point, we can do the following do get our goal:
1. Give user (user@xxxxxxxxxxx) "Send as" permission to send e-mail with
From: accounts@xxxxxxxxxxxx
2. Manually input From: accounts@xxxxxxxxxxx of e-mail in Outlook and send.
Also, when your customers reply, all the e-mails are send to
accounts@xxxxxxxxxxxx Each user in the Distribution Group can get the same
copy of the e-mail, this is just what you need.
Hope this helps.
If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Best regards,
Robert Li(MSFT)

<Hi Edwin,
<
<Thanks for your reply.
<
<I am sorry for misunderstood your concern.
<
<I consulted my colleagues, we are unable to get to the aim you wanted. The
<Exchange identify the sender by its e-mail addresses, if all e-mail go out
<to Internet with the same sender, this will cause confusing. Also all the
<reply e-mails go to one sender, most of time, we don't need this. So
<Exchange doesn't have the feature to automatically transfer sender from
<user@xxxxxxxxxxx to account@xxxxxxxxxxxx
<
<However, we can do this manually. Every time you send out e-mail, just
<input account@xxxxxxxxxxx in the From field of Outlook.
<
<Step 1: To allow user (user@xxxxxxxxxxx) send e-mail with From:
<accounts@xxxxxxxxxxx, we need to give additional rights.
<
<1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and
<then click "Active Directory Users and Computers".
<2. On the View menu, click to select Advanced Features.
<3. In the console tree, go to Domail.local\My Buniness\Distribution Group.
<4. In the right pane, right-click the Distribution group with e-mail
<accounts@xxxxxxxxxxx you have created, and then click Properties.
<5. On the security tab, click Add, and then type the name of the user.
<7. Click Check Names to verify the name, and then click OK.
<8. Verify that user is selected, and then click to select the Send As.
< 9. Quit Active Directory Users and Computers.
<
<Step 2: Send out e-mail with account account@xxxxxxxxxxxx
<
<1. Open Outlook with account user@xxxxxxxxxxxx
<2. Create a new e-mail.
<3. Fill in account@xxxxxxxxxxx in the From field. If you cannot see From,
<please click View/From Field.
<4. Send out e-mail.
<
<When the recipient reply this e-mail, this will send to distribution group
<account@xxxxxxxxxxxx Everyone in the group will send the same e-mail.
<
<Here are answer to your questions:
<
<1. We have not yet set up the generic department distribution group - how
<do we do this?
<
<Since you have already have one, there is no necessary to create a new
one.
<If you need to do this:
<
<1) Open ADUC.
<2) Go to Domain.local\My Business\ distribution group.
<3) Right click and select New\Query-based Distribution Group.
<4) Input the name and click Next.
<5) Select the Filter go add the users in this group.
<6) Click Finish.
<7) Right click the Distribution Group and select Properties.
<8) On the E-mail Addesses tab, add the address.
<9) Click OK.
<
<2. How do we seet it up to ensure that all users recieve each e-mail
<message?
<
<You have already have a e-mail enabled Distribution Group. When e-mails
get
<distribution group account@xxxxxxxxxxxx Everyone in the group will get the
<same e-mail.
<
<3. We DO NOT want to use OOF for this (our staff are never really out of
<office).
<
<Sorry. I misunderstood your concern.
<
<Hope this helps.
<
<If you have any concern about this issue, please don't hesitate to let me
<know.
<
<Have a nice weekend.
<
<Best regards,
<

<<Hello Bob,
<<
<<Thanks for posting in our newsgroup.
<<
<<From your description, I know that the staffs (user@xxxxxxxxxxx) are in a
<<DL accounts@xxxxxxxxxxxx

<<address.
<<
<<But in OOF e-mail, you want the mail sender is accounts@xxxxxxxxxxxx
<<
<<If I misunderstanding your concern, please don't hesitate to let me know.
<<
<<Based on my research, we can create a Outlook rule to get the aim. Please
<<take the following steps:
<<
<<Step 1: To allow user (user@xxxxxxxxxxx) send e-mail with From:
<<accounts@xxxxxxxxxxx, we need to give additional rights.
<<
<<1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and

Group.
<<4. In the right pane, right-click the DL you created, and then click
<<Properties.
<<5. On the security tab, click Add, and then type the name of the user.
<<7. Click Check Names to verify the name, and then click OK.
<<8. Verify that user is selected, and then click to select the Read
<<Permission, Change Permission, Full mailbox access right
<<9. Quit Active Directory Users and Computers.
<<
<<Step 2: Create OOF rule in Outlook.
<<
<<1. Open Outlook, click Tools/Out of Office Assistance.
<<2. Click Enable Out of Office auto replies and then click Rules in the
<<button.
<<3. On the Edit Rule page, check Reply with. Click Template.
<<4. Edit your own reply letter. Please fill accounts@xxxxxxxxxxx after
<From:.
<<5. Save the template.
<<
<<Now when user is OOF, the exchange will send OFF reply with From
<<accounts@xxxxxxxxxxxx
<<
<<Hope this helps.
