Re: Client Internet Access

Merv,

I am sorry it has taken me so long to reply to you. Thank you for your help
on this situation it worked perfectly.

Remove your ISP's DNS IPs from the external NIC. Then enter your SBS server
IP for the DNS IP on your external NIC. Then re-run CEICW, select "A Direct
Broadband Connection" and on the "Router Connection" screen, enter your
ISP's DNS Namerserver IPs as the Primary and Alternate DNS server. Then, on
the "Firewall" screen, select Enable, select the services you want and
complete the rest of CEICW. After that, reboot your workstations and try to
access the Internet again.

If that doesn't work, check the binding order of your NICs:

Check Binding Order...

Right click My Network Places... Properties. Highlight the Internal NIC.
Then select Advanced... Advanced Settings from the top menu for that window.

The Internal NIC should be displayed first followed by the External NIC. If
not, move the Internal NIC to the top of the list.
The Internal NIC should have File and Printer Sharing bound (checkmarked) to
the TCP/IP Protocol.
The Internal NIC should have Client for Microsoft Networks bound
(checkmarked) to the TCP/IP Protocol.
The External NIC should be bound to TCP/IP only (no other protocols or
services).

That still did not work.

Hi Peanut,

On the external NIC, remove the ISP's DNS nameserver IP addresses and
add
only the IP of your SBS server (192.168.181.1). Then re-run CEICW and
use
your ISP's DNS nameservers IPs as "forwarders" on the appropriate
screen
(the Router Connection screen). (You can also leave the WINS IP
address
<blank> on the external NIC). Then reboot your workstations.

First we need to know something about the system.

Do you have SBS Premium with ISA installed?

Could you run the command ipconfig /all on both the server and one
workstation and post the results? If you don't have ISA, then the
system TCP/IP configuration is the main suspect.
