Hi Everyone
Thanks for all the feedback and amusing comments - good for a laugh on
another wet Friday afternoon.
I am glad that I am not going mad - we have had this configuration for at
least three years now, and our rack contains other kit like the rack mounted
forewall, another sever, telephone pbx, and UPs's, and it has worked
perfectly well.
I imagine that it is some issue with the Dell kit, but to blame it on MS (I
know we all blame them for most ails) is very unfair.
I have just received a satisfaction survey from Dell regarding this mornings
call, so I will choose my words with great pleasure!
Thanks for your comments
Alex

Hi we run SBS2003 R2 on a Dell rack mount Server. Talking to a Dell
server technician, he commented that SBS was designed for small company
networks using tower servers (infering that small businesses may not wish
to implment a rack mount solution), and that Microsoft dont recommend that
SBS2003 is installed on a rack mount server.
I found this strange and wondered if it was correct and if so, why?
Thanks
Alex
