DNS configuration

My network includes a server with SBS 2003 r2 sp1, a pc as a router/
firewall with Ipcop installed, and 8 xp pro clients. In SBS-related
groups and forums, I fond different proposed solutions to configure
DNS, so I would like someone could answer these questions.

1 - Inside my LAN I don't want to use DHCP, so I disabled DHCP
service; somewhere I read that is better to enable DHCP and configure
dns dynamic updates in any case, even if I have only static IPs. Is
this correct, also considering that my ISP network is natted? If it is
correct to configure dns dynamic updates with static IPs behind a
natted network, are there particular options to enable inside the
three tabs in "DHCP Properties" window?

2 - DNS are configured as follows:

Router: DNS are automatically obtained by the ISP

XP clients: default gateway pointing to the router IP; primary dns are
pointing to the server IP; secondary dns left blank (is it correct?)

SBS server: default gateway pointing to the router IP; primary dns
pointing to the router IP (or must pointing to itself?); secondary dns
left blank; forwarders: only pointing to the router IP (or must add
other ISP dns?)

3 - Except for forwarders configuration, I left unchanged all other
options inside the tabs in Properties window of my SBS dns console: is
this correct in my case?

Thank you for your help!
