Group Policy to SHOW Desktop Icons?

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Looking in the GP Editor, I see policies to HIDE the various desktop icons,
but I wish to force them to SHOW ("My Documents" especially). Googling
brings me nothing but a few forums which say it can't be done? I find this
difficult to believe, can anyone point me in the right direction or is this
truly not configurable from a domain policy point of view?

TIA,

SusanV
