RE: Configure Firewall fails

Hello Quilnux,

Thanks for posting in our newsgroup.

From your description, I know when you ran the CEICW, you fail to configure
the firewall. If I am off-base, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Please kindly help me collect the following information and I need to do
research on this issue. Thanks for your time.

1. CEICW Log

Please send us the c:\Program Files\Microsoft Small Business
Server\Support\icwlog.txt.

2. MPS-Report

1) Visit
http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/b/1/bb139fcb-4aac-4fe5-a579-30b0bd9
15706/MPSRPT_NETWORK.EXE to download the file.

2) Run the MPSRPT_NETWORK.EXE on the server box.

3) Wait for 10~15 minutes.

4) Open Windows explorer, navigate to
%SYSTEMROOT%\MPSReports\Network\Reports\cab\

5) Send the .cab file to us.

3. Screen Shot of CEICW when you see error.

Please send the information to v-robeli@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with subject:
39856232-Configure Firewall fails.

I am looking forward to hear from you.

If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,

Robert Li(MSFT)

<Hello,
<
<Previously we have been successful when updating the firewall configs
(which
<requires you to rerun the internet connection wizard which is fine) to
open
<new ports for new services provided but recently, when we set up the
firewall
<in the wizard and then continue to the point where it starts running the
<configuration, it completes all steps (Network Config, Secure Web Site
<Config, Email config) but fails on firewall config with error "An error
<occurred while configuring component." I click ok so it with continue but,
I
<don't know how to resolve the firewall issue. The event logs (application
and
<system) do not have any errors or warnings about this. The only thing that
<has changed on the system is we added a RAID 1 configuration (hardware) to
<the system. That is about the time this started happening. We also have
not
<seen any other issues at all. This is the only one. We have already tried
<running the SBS 2003 wizard from Add/Remove programs to try to remove and
<install the SBS components again to see if that are corrupt. they remove
fine
<and install again fine with no errors but the issue remains. We have since
<tried terminating the RAID 1 config, setting the system back to the way it
<was before raid, and the issue remains.
<
<Any ideas?
