Hi Les, but sorry I disagree.
Firstly though, my complaint is also about the search function diverts to
'live search' How long does it take to fix it. Promoting a resource I would
have a dedicated team working on it anticipating glitches and working on any
issues posted. Such a core part of the 'resource' isn't working, even one
week after mentioning it.
My search is specific if I have SBS Premium . Also its a genuine question,
even if I had SBS Standard, its a very valid question and is asked many
times. Even to have a 'result' SBS standard requires 3rd party, haven't used
standard so unsure if there is ' a way ',
Maybe Im expecting too much, but then if the basics 'search' cant be
implemented, 'Get it right, on time, first time, everytime' isn't a
philosophy Microsoft follows its all down to money for shareholders, not
their customers.
' SBS User Assistance team', what is this suppose to reflect? Contact button
takes you to the default technet feed back page.
I am an avid Microsoft supporter but with recent issues, SP2, Vista and some
other issues in other areas not specific to here I am seriously wondering
about Microsoft recent commercial decisions

Your search term isn't SBS specific.
If you have ISA, then try the ISA documentation. If you don't have ISA,
then you'll find no MS provided documentation for that task anywhere,
nevermind in SBS documentation.

Well has it been updated...? Thought I would add it to my resource list
........Dont think so.
Thought I would give it a try and search SP2.... still live search.
Really, I visited to search ' how to block websites', back to live search
and total rubbish..
Remove it till you get it right! Im sorry, its just so frustrating when
you 'promote' a resource and it doesn't work. My clients would sack me if
I acted like this.

Thanks for this Steve.
Teneo, the idea is to centralize access for all SBS documentation as
it's become a bit fragmented of late. It an initiative we've asked for
in meetings with MS, and they are listening. As it comes together,
please continue to provide your thoughts on how effective it is so we
can make it work. I think everyone would agree that it's needed; it may
take a bit of tweaking but it will be a valuable resource.

Thank you Teneo!
We discovered the search glitch as well and are working on correcting
that
problem right now. Search should be returning results from the SBS
Technical
Library and other TechNet sites, not from other MS Web sites.
You are correct that this library contains previously published
information.
However it is not a copy, but the amalgamation of the latest versions
of this
content. In the future, it can be easily refreshed with updates and
additions. All hyperlinks to current core product Help content direct
users
to this library.
The fact that you did not find SP2 content is expected, as we have not
yet
delivered any related SBS-specific information - except in the SBS R2
release
notes.
Thank you for your quick feedback. We appreciate it!
Cheers!

Hello Steve, thank you for posting that BUT... its just copy and paste
of
previous information, unfortunately didn't check it all as failed at
its
first hurdle.
I was excited until I clicked a few links and as stated its all
previous
info. Was also annoyed that I searched for SP2 and was taken to 'live
search' presumably as the content has no mention of sp2 and first info
in
live search is XP sp2
Few lines down is SP2 and very annoyed reading
' Windows Server 2003 R2, Service Pack 2 (SP2) delivers on the
Microsoft
Trustworthy Computing initiative and illustrates Microsoft's
commitment to
continually create software products with enhanced security, increased
reliability, and simplified administration.'
Especially with the issues with SP2 when the first reported fix about
help
and support isn't fixed in the sp2 update, we have to follow
instuctions to
fix a fix. Why isn't a readme on the SP2 page. Appreciate this isn't
related
to your link, or is it in there somewhere ?
If you want this to be credible get SP2 issues on the front page as a
warning.
Sorry to rant but sp2 has caused us untold frustration and time and
money.
We have a 20 point check list to check a server after sp2 install and
we
shouldn't have to do this. Quote..'increased reliability, and
simplified
administration', some of the issues were reported in march, why
couldn't sp2
have been adjusted to fix the simple things i.e help and support
issue.

The Windows SBS User Assistance team is pleased to announce the
launch and
availability of the Windows SBS 2003 Technical Library at
http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServerSolutions/SBS/en/library.
The
WSBS
Technical Library centralizes all of the core product documentation
for
WSBS
2003 and WSBS 2003 R2. In doing so, it significantly improves your
ability
to
search for and discover topics of interest. By centralizing this
documentation within a common interface, you are assured of getting
quick
access to the latest information. There is also far less chance of
being
confused or annoyed by running into multiple and conflicting
versions of
the
same document.
An added bonus of this release is that it also enables you to take
advantage
of the built in feedback system. The feedback system makes it
possible for
you to let us know if you find the documentation helpful or to share
your
thoughts on how we can correct or improve it.
On the back end, it is much easier for us to collect and evaluate
your
feedback. Updates to documentation are handled more efficiently and
the
library is refreshed on a weekly basis.
You can access the library by clicking on any document link on the
SBS
Product Documentation Web pages
(http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/sbs/techinfo/productdoc/default.mspx)
or from the SBS TechNet site
(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sbs/2003/default.mspx).
In the coming months, we will introduce more features that enhance
your
experience with our product documentation on the Web. Stay tuned!
