It can't be said strongly enough-use the wizards and don't try to do things
the same way you would on "normal" Windows 2003 Server. There is no "add
roles" management either since the integrated SBS 2003 install and
subsequent wizards take care of all that for you.
One place you say you have peer to peer and then you say the SBS won't join
the domain-something is amiss there. Yes you want the SBS to handle the DHCP
server duties. Once again setup SBS 2003 with its integrated install and
wizards and then use the connect computer wizard to join the current
workstations to the domain you create when setting up the SBS.

Well I got such great responses from my last post, I hope I can get
something of the same on this one.
I am setting up my first SBS 03 server. I have min exposure to this
animal.
I have setup 2003 servers a couple times, and man its different. Dealt
with lots of pcs/admin and netware servers some years ago.
With server 03, (Windows server 2003) you could just join the domain
from the client assuming you had a login id and it was done.
With sbs, you have to go thru all these wizards on the server and all.
Is this right?
Also I don't really see a place to add roles the same as server 2003
had. There was a (forget what it was called) server management wizard
that showed you roles. Dns, dhcp etc, you could add roles etc. But its
not the same as what I see on sbs.
The bigger question is this:
I currently have my few users dhcp connecting to a sonicwall vpn
router, which is connected to a dsl box then out .. Simple peer to
peer setup.
I have server setup, single nic, static ip address.
I would like to get users over onto the sbs03 server with dhcp etc
with the least amount of disruption.
I can't setup dhcp on the server while the sonicwall is doin dhcp
right?
And when I try to join the domain, it complains that I might have dhcp
running elsewhere and won't let me join.
Suggestions? I guess I could config everyone with a static address
while I setup dhcp on server?
Thanks
Travis
