Limited to 1 IP you should be fine. What the other posters are worried about
is that the port is open and can be used for attacks. Although not ideal, I
wouldn't worry too much.

I did have it active on the drive where the ftp home directory was stored,
and saw that the Internet Guest user had reached 100% of quota limit.
First
I set the quota limit to "no limit" and restarted the computer. No luck.
Then I disabled quota management and it seems to have fixed the problem.
Thanks so much!
Is it terribly unsecure to run the ftp server in the way that I have it
set
up? It is:
-behind a hardware firewall
-limited access to (1) IP address (can this be spoofed?)
-using anonymous login to eliminate unencrypted passing of usernames/pwds
over the internet

Disk is formatted NTFS (if that's your question).
ftp server is run directly from the SBS 2003 server which is inside the
LAN.
The home directory is not shared in the LAN. Why would MS include ftp
server in SBS 2003 if it's not to be used? That's beside the point
though.
If you know how to fix this problem, please give me a hint. If you see
a
security problem, tell me about it in more detail.

This is probably simple, but I'm not getting the answer after
looking
thru
a
lot of posts.
I'm running straight out of the box SBS 2003 with all patches and
service
packs up to date. I started an ftp server to backup files from
another
office in our company. It worked fine for about a week, and had
backed
up
about 1.2 GB of files. Stopped working suddenly, and I need help.
Setup:
1. Access denied except for IP Address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (our other
office
IP
address)
2. Allow anonymous logons (so as not to send plain text
usernames/passwords
across the internet)
3. Read-write permissions enabled on the Home Directory
Now when I enter ftp.exe command from the other office computer
(thru
terminal services) I have the following:
C:\Documents and Settings\user>ftp xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Connected to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.
220 Microsoft FTP Service
User (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:(none)): anonymous
331 Anonymous access allowed, send identity (e-mail name) as passwor
Password:
230 Anonymous user logged in.
ftp> send
Local file c:\video.log
Remote file video.log
200 PORT command successful.
550 video.log: There is not enough space on the disk.
ftp>
There are 87 GB of free space on the disk.
Please help me fix this as I've told my boss it's working (it was
for
several days).
Thanks!
