Are you running SQL on this SBS? How many workstations? You may find 3-4 GB
RAM to be better. I'd seriously consider changing from software to hardware
RAID with either SCSI or good quality SATA drives and appropriate good
quality controller card.

hi, ram is 2gb on server, usually sitting at 750mb free. Disks show no
errors, 2 disks in software raid via the sbs server, one disk on each ide
chanel. Not sure how i can change this config without losing the info on
the
disks, as they have a combination of mirrored and spanned drives between
the
2 of them.
Will check out the perfmon figures and get back to you.
thanks

hi, thanks for the reply.
was thinking it might be a problem with the disks, am running software
raid,
and there seems to be almost constant hdd activity. Also, server is
running
as main a/v server, when logged on is set to scan on access, but even
with
this turned off it is still slow.
Have tried a different switch, and still the same, dns settings seem to
be
ok, will recheck when i get at the server again later.
