Hi - your posts are clearly replies to mine, but you are not replying to
*my* replies, which makes it difficult to follow you, and will make it
doubly so for anyone else. Please reply to the right posts & set your
newsreader to quote text properly when you're replying inline.
Well, aside of his inventory spreadsheets, I also see $$ spreadsheets.
When I log into my work computer from home, it boots him off and I can
see what he is doing at that moment I kick him off.
Only if he's logged in using the same user account, which means you don't
have a good password policy in place.
I also know he is
operating another business because my work, is completly unrelated to
what I see him doing. I am not ready to pounce, I want to figure a few
more things out first.
Then install tracking software, confront him, and perhaps terminate his
employment immediately. You've been given some suggestions, but this isn't
really a technical question any longer.
_I_don't_know_what_his_role_is_in_the_company,_but_if_he_isn't_your_IT
department,_take_away_his_admin_rights.--_
He is not my IT guy, I just learned they are closer than I had
thought. It would almost make sense if they were close, as I don't
believe my employee could have been able to 'hide' things the way he
is.
Then you have larger problems.
_What_sorts_of_things?_and_where?_When_deleting_files_across_the_network,
there_is_no_recycle_bin._Is_he_logging_into_the_server?
_
Any spreadsheets or anything he is doing, during my hours. I can see
everytime he deletes notepad things and spreadsheets, so on. I don't
know enough about any of this
Get someone who does, to help you search your network.
, but I do know.. when I log on from
home, run a search for files and documents from today to today, I can
see what he did all day..he is not programming CAD drawings, that for
sure. I don't think, or I am not sure if he is accessing the system
from home or not. It just struck me odd that the WSUS3 was accessed
at 11PM, when no one is in the building. Does WSUS3 go on by
it'sself?
Yes.
Can you tell me what it is? I saw an automatic update and a
'self update'
I've given you the name - it's a windows update service. Google is your
friend. :)
I am again sorry for the ignorance, but like I said, I need to get my
facts straight before I act. Not doing what I am paying him to do,
atleast 4 hours a day is not as good as I want my reasons to be. I
have to line up my ducks so I can answer the unemployment questions I
will get when this is over.
Sure, but as mentioned, this is no longer much of a technical
question/thread.
