Re: SBS 2k3 R2 Exchange Restore Question

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

You could restore the Exchange data from your backup into the first storage
group and re-mount it. Unless you have data in the current Exchange data
base that you want to retain that's not in your backup. I'm thinking that
you could merge your backup into the first storage group if that was the
case but I've not looked at that so I'm not sure.

This is probably a dumb question but someone just asked me and i'm not
sure the answer:

If you have a backup of just the raw database files (.edb, .log, etc from
the mbdata folder) of exchange...
Is it possible to mount those files to get the data out of them an into
the first storage group (the production one that's already running)?

I couldn't find anything on this online, but wasn't sure what to search
for exactly.

Thanks in advance.
