I login remote to reboot. I have not been onsite when problem occurs. Nothing
in the logs to indicate a problem. All services running except the DRAC card
service is still trying Start. I'll check CPU usage when it occurs again,
remotely. I just checked the CPU usage (3 hours after reboot). Its normal
about 2% average.
I'll pursue the Symantec issue to see something changed (MS updates etc)
that Symantec doesn't like....Appreciate all comments...any more thoughts?

I'd be more likely to blame Symantec than the DRAC. I don't see how that.
card would cause what you're seeing - it's not in the network path anywhere.
If you just disable the service that doesn't start correctly anyway, that
should rule it out.
When you get there in the morning and can't access the Internet, what
happens if you log in locally at the server - can you browse from there?
What kind of CPU activity is going on then? If the Symantec services are
grabbing an increasing amount of CPU cycles, a reboot would temporarily fix
everything until it happened again that night.
If you log into the server in the morning when there's no Internet access,
what is the status of everything - any errors showing in the logs? All
services running that should be?

I have two NICs. This is a new problem. It first occurred last Monday.
After
rebooting no problems with clients connecting to the interner on Tuesday
and
Wednesday.
I plan to remove the card this weekend. If I disable it the monitor on the
server will not work (I think) since the Drac card is connected (it must
be
if you have one) to the monitor and not to the builtin VGA connector.

I'd remove or at least disable the DRAC card and the service.
How many nics in your SBS server?
Has this always been a problem or is it new?

I have the standard edition. A DRAC card is a Dell Remote Assistance
Card
that allows Dell or you to access and trouble shoot your server
(hardware)
underneath Windows. It can be use with their Open manage system. We
have
never used it. Its not fully configured to use. Dell says they use
other
tools now.

Is this standard or premium version?
What is the DRAC 4 card?

My client workstations on my SBS network are unable to connect to
the
Internet when they first logon in the morning. This has happened
twice
in
the
last week. They can access their Server files and databases OK. But
no
Internet, IE gives them a blank page with server cannot be found
message.
I can log in remotely to the server through RWW and reboot it.
Rebooting
the
server fixes the problem. I have checked the logs. The only problem
I
see
is
a service for my DRAC 4 card that fails to start. In the Services
panel
it
shows the DRAC card in "Starting" status.
I have two NIC cards a Dell 1800 with 2x 3.2 processors. I run SBS
2003
with
service pack 2 and Exchange with service pack 2. WSUS 2.0
The only other issue I am aware of is Symantec Anti-Virus Corporate
was
using 62% of my CPU until I rebooted. Don't have any idea why. My
norm
in
cpu
usage is about 2% average.
I would appreciate any ideas how to trouble shoot this issue.
