Re: Problem with Exchange Transaction Logs.

Thanks for the reply Kevin.

I am doing an Exchange aware backup of the Exchange database. I do this
using the built in Backup on SBS: which is scheduled nightly at 11PM

This problem occurs randomly and quickly fills the partition

the problem is that you are not doing an Exchange aware backup of your
Exchange database. You can do this using the built in Backup on SBS:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=258243

Doing so will automatically delete the 5mb .log files.

I have an issue with the exchange transaction logs filling the partition
until there is no space left and the stores dismount.

It starts with this Event at , any random time:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: MSExchangeSA
Event Category: Monitoring
Event ID: 9095
Date: 6/21/2007
Time: 6:15:13 AM
User: N/A
Computer: SERVER
Description:
The MAD Monitoring thread is initializing.

For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.

I then get 3 X 5MB log files being created every 60 seconds until they
fill up 6GB free space on the C:

I have enabled circular logging for the time being to stop the disk loss.

I have run :
eseutil /p "c:\program files\exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb"

eseutil /d "c:\program files\exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb"

eseutil /p "c:\program files\exchsrvr\mdbdata\pub1.edb"

eseutil /d "c:\program files\exchsrvr\mdbdata\pub1.edb"

isinteg -fix -s sbs01 -test alltests

and then remount the stores.

What is going on? Do I have a corrupt mail store?

Can I have the users ( 2 ) backup their outlook to a PST and then delete
the mail store and start again?

The Private mail store is 6GB, this seems excessive to me for 2 users who
are under the default quotas .

Thanks in Advance
