Re: Folder Redirection Problem

anyone with an idea?

So you have a two parter?

1) laptop group policy not being applied

2) want to know how to remove sync for the old (Users$) directory

Right?

1; check the laptop settings and verify the SBS server is the only DNS
setting. Next try a manual "gpudate /force" to try to get the policy
applied. Then check the event log on the laptop and post the reason group
policy is not being applied.

2; Somewhere I have a procedure for removing no longer available off line
files. I'll look for it and post it later if someone doesn't beat me to it.

thanks in advance

Hello Community,

the documents folder from users was redirected to a directory called
\\sbs-server\users$\%username%.

Now i changed that to the Original Location via SBS Servermanagement
Console. So now they are pointed to \\sbs-server\users\%username%.
The Clients use Windows Vista.

Everything worked fine except one user. He does not get the folder
redirection policy. I checked that with gpresult. And he gets a
warning everytime he logs off his laptop saying that files could not
be synchronized correctly.

SBS created a directory for this user correctly under
\\sbs-server\users\%username%. And there is content in it. But only
Folders and no files.

I also recognized that on each client there are now two
synchronisation partnerships. One for the old directory
\\sbs-server\users$\%username% and one for the new directory
\\sbs-server\users\%username%. Any Chance to get rid off the old one?

Hope someone can help me out with this.

Our Environment:

Server: SBS 2003 R2 Premium
Clients: Windows Vista Business

Thank You
