Verizon?

From a DOS command prompt at both the server and a workstation, run the
following command: ipconfig /all
and post the results back here.

Version did a number on this site last week. The client lost all
connection to the Internet which meant the Netgear router had to be
fixed also. A pain but all fixed. The problem is that the client
machines can't connect to the domain.

I get the following error:

Note: This information is intended for a network administrator. If
you are not your network's administrator, notify the administrator
that you received this information, which has been recorded in the
file C:\WINDOWS\debug\dcdiag.txt.
The following error occurred when DNS was queried for the service
location (SRV) resource record used to locate a domain controller for
domain marion.local:
The error was: "DNS name does not exist."(error code 0x0000232B
RCODE_NAME_ERROR)
The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.marion.local
Common causes of this error include the following:
- The DNS SRV record is not registered in DNS.
- One or more of the following zones do not include delegation to its
child zone:
marion.locallocal. (the root zone)

I don't know how to fix this error.

Version modem uses IP address is 192.168.1.1
Netgear router uses 192.168.0.1
The Netgear router does DNS and DHCP. All clients have same DNS
192.168.0.1 for DNS and gateway.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

thanks

Yes, they were.

They could connect last week before that internet crashed.

are all users/workstations in the same OU in Active Directory?
that is, were all users and computers add in the same way, via the SBS
wizards?

I have some users who can log on to a Windows Small Business Server
but can't log onto a share. They get an error message that they
can't
access the share.

All users are in the same range of IP addresses, the DNS and Win
numbers are the same. The SBS 2003 server has a fixed IP address
while
the clients don't.

I can ping the IP address and name of the server.

Again, I can log onto the serve but can't access a share by mapping
a
drive.

Any suggestion on how this can be fixed.

Thanks
