RE: Critical Errors in Server Performance Report

Hi Andy,

Thank for posting in our newsgroup.

From your description, I know you get Security 565 in Server Performance
Report. If I am off-base, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Based on my research, Security 565 occurs if Object Access Success and
Failure Auditing is turned ON, these events will definitely be seen.
Auditing is a Windows OS level thing and if we turn it on it will
faithfully perform it's job. If needed, we can turn Auditing Off at the
Local Computer Level (Define the settings but don't check either Success or
Failure). This should avoid the 565 events in the local server.

To resolved this:

You turn on auditing for the Object Access category and the Directory
Service Access category.

More information:

Your auditing logs may contain incorrect auditing event details for event
565 and event 560

Sometimes when event ID 565 occurs, you may see the account lock, high CPU
usage, Exchange error, Audit failure. Please help me collect the MPS Report
and I will research the related event. If there are not related errors, you
can safely ignore event id 565 and that's normal behavior.

MPS Report

1) Download MPS report tool from:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/b/1/bb139fcb-4aac-4fe5-a579-30b0bd9
15706/MPSRPT_SETUPPerf.EXE
2) Run the MPSRPT_SETUPPerf.exe on the server box.
3) Wait for 10~15 minutes.
4) Open Windows explorer, navigate to
%SYSTEMROOT%\MPSReports\Setup\Reports\cab\
5) Send the .cab file to v-robeli@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with subject:
39577200-Critical Errors in Server Performance Report.

I am looking forward to hear from you.

If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,

Robert Li(MSFT)
