You are correct that I have a "80" folder.
There is no SQL Server reference under Start>Programs.
I hate to ask a dumb question but, is installing SQL going to be required to resolve the issue?
Is there a way to simply reinstall companyweb to recreate the MSDE linkage???
The client has never used companyweb (but would like to) so there is no need to salvage data....
Thanks for sticking with me,
mike

I assume there is only one folder with subfolders and one of them is called "80". It looks like you have a standard version with only have MSDE installed. When you go to START/PROGRAMS do you see a SQL Server reference?
If you have Standard with MSDE installed you can still get to it if you have some other box that has a full SQL installed. You can use the Enterprise Manager there to connect to your MSDE instances. If you have access to a full SQL CD you can also install the tools on your SBS.

'Program Files' contains a Microsoft SQL Server folder but no ISA folder.

If you don't know whether you have Standard or Premium, check for SQL and ISA installation under the program files.

"Claus" <cjobes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:e8MhRYPrHHA.3248@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxEnterprise Manager is only present if SQL2000 is installed. What version of SBS2003 are you running - standard or premium? If you are using R2 then you are running SQL2005 Workgroup.

I have run through KB:823287 and found that (on Method 3) Enterprise Manager does not appear to be on the system. I was not the original installer of the server so I'm not sure what the root cause of this is or what the best course for resolution is.
Method 1 and 2 of the KBA were completed and passed (i.e. mssqlserver service is running and IIS is not running in IIS5.0 isolation mode).
Thanks in advance for your assistance,
Mike
