Let's concentrate on the configs of Default Web Site and CompanyWeb because I
think the settings are not quite right. The easiest thing for me to do is do
some screen shots on what my settings are for both and email them to you so
you can set up the same. Do you have an email address I can send a Word file
to?
I am also using asp.net v 1.1.4322

1. Yes.
2. Same thing. Tries to give me that file.
3. both point to the server 192.168.16.2
TCP = 80 for both, SSL = 443 & 444
4. It's pulling it from the Server. The file is called companyweb. No
extension, type unknown.
Also I've noticed in some of the other posts, that the ASP.Net should be
version 1?
Mine is 2.0.50727
Where should the files for the companyweb page be? In the IIS properties,
the webpages point to a folder called C:/INETPUB/companyweb or wwwroot.

OK trying to download a file is definetely strange. Let's also eliminate the
obivous and make sure there is nothing "hijacking" your requests.
1. Does this happen on each client computer?
2. What happens when you type in a new specific address such as
"https://server:444" where you replace "server" with the name of your SBS
server?
3. On the SBS server go into Program Files/Admin Tools/IIS Administration.
Under your server tree item/Web Sites you should see multiple items that
include "Default Web Site" and "Companyweb". Make sure both are started.
Then go into each one via right click/properties and look at what the
settings are for: IP Address, TCP port, and SSL port.
4. If you can "download" the file have you tried that just to see what it
wants to download?
"G-man" wrote:
1. Yes. But I had to change it because when IE launched, it wanted to
download an unknown 'companyweb' file to the computer and would do nothing
else until I changed the homepage. When you hit cancel it closed IE.
2. It wants to download an unknown file 'companyweb' to the computer. The
only options are find, save or cancel.
3. Yes, it shows the server name.domainname.local and the IP address. (local
too 192.168....)
Thx.

We need more information.
1. Was this the default web page when a client browser opened? What is the
default page now for a client?
2. What happens when you open up IE and type in "companyweb" for the address?
3. Open a command prompt and type in "ping companyweb". What comes back in
the reply? Does it point to your SBS server?
Let's start there.

NewB question:
We had our internal companyweb site working after the initial installation a
long time ago.
Last year some time we completed some updates and it stopped working.
I have no idea how to restart it or find it.
The companyweb page used to come up (it said welcome to your compnayweb
page, click a link ...), now it wants to download some file.
Is there a way to reinstall the compnayweb page?
Or how do I get it working again?
Any info would be helpful.
Thank you,
