Thank you for the reply. Just need to check if however, my settings that I
listed earlier are ok since the exchange troubleshooting came up with an
error for smtp.

Here's some more of the server settings:

Our setup for email is: ISP=bellsouth Our mx is 1and1. In the CEICW I have
the following setup:

Local Area Connection: 192.168.2.100

Server Local Connection: 192.168.16.2

Broadband: 192.168.2.100

subnet: 255.255.255.0

Default gateway: 192.168.2.1

Preferred DNS: 205.152.144.23 (bellsouth)

Alternate DNS: 205.152.132.23 (bellsouth)

Webserver name: 70.147.59.152

Email Delivery: Use DNS

Email Retrieval: Use POP3 mailboxes; Use Exchange

Email domain: tfpby.org

InExchange System: SMTP protocols FQDN=tfpby.org

In DNSmanagement = Root hints ServerFQDN=tfpbysvr02.tfpby.local

For forwarders I have bellsouth's 205.152.144.23 and 205.152.132.23 And I
also added 1and1's record 217.160.226.101 to see if it would help.

Forward pointers include Name Server tfpbysvr02.tfpby.local Host A
192.168.16.2

Reverse Lookup: 16.168.192.in-addr.arpa and 2.168.192.in-addr.arpa

Sorry Cris I had substituted letters for the example: actual ones are -
TFPBYSVR02.tfpby.local for the server fqdn and tfpby.org for the smtp
fqdn

DMKINSVR02.dmkin.local is on your local dns correct?

I just went to www.dnsreport.com and put in dmkin.org and it reports
"ERROR:
The parent servers say that the domain dmkin.org does not exist. Note
that
the DNS Report only works on domains, not hostnames.]

You need to contact your ISP/WEB HOST/WHOEVER handles your external DNS
and
get them to get this straight for you

Setup server over a year ago - first time ever. Everything working
fine
until
a couple of weeks ago when our mx host moved servers and had some dns
issues.
Not knowing spent hours checking the server and running diagnostics.
Hosting
company says all is fixed but I have problems with some emails stuck
in
queue
to one particular domain. Ran Microsoft Exchange Troubleshooting
Assistant
and came up with the following error:

SMTP instance fully-qualified domain name does not match DNS resolved
server
name.

The fully-qualified domain name of SMTP virtual server 'Default SMTP
Virtual
Server' on server DMKINSVR02 does not match the DNS resolved server
name.
This may cause mail routing problems. SMTP virtual server: dmkin.org.
DNS
resolved server name: DMKINSVR02.dmkin.local.

I know where to change these settings but before I do anything I need
to
know which one I need to change (dns fqdn or smtp fqdn) and what if
anything
else I need to change ie forward zones reverse zones ptr's.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am lost at this point.
