SMTP dns

Setup server over a year ago - first time ever. Everything working fine
until a couple of weeks ago when our mx host moved servers and had some
dns issues. Spent hours checking the server and running diagnostics.
Hosting company says all is fixed but I have problems with some emails
stuck in queue. Ran Microsoft Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant and
came up with the following error:
SMTP instance fully-qulified domain name does not match DNS resolved
server name.
The fully-qualified domain name of SMTP virtual server 'Default SMTP
Virtual Server' on server DMKINSVR02 does not match the DNS resolved
server name. This may cause mail routing problems. SMTP virtual server:
dmkin.org. DNS resolved server name: DMKINSVR02.tfpby.local.
I know where to change these settings but before I do anything I need
to know which one I need to change (dns fqdn or smtp fqdn) and what if
anything else I need to change ie forward zones reverse zones ptr's.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am lost at this point.
