Offline files could not be found - offline Synchronisation


A user I support is having problems with offline synchronisation.
I have setup offline synchronisation on his Win XP Pro Laptop and have
configured GPO to synchronise all subfolders. I have made the top
level directory available offline and this has flagged all subfolders
for synchronisation. The problem is when he is out of the office some
files are available and some not with the error messages
"file could not be found Check the spelling of the file name, and
verify the file location is correct"
and
"The path or file name for "xxxxxx" is invalid. Please check that the
path and file name are correct."

This only happens on this particular laptop new install 2 weeks old
This is the first time offline files have been used on this laptop
The laptop is added to our domain
